Netflix has announced that it is partnering with 2K and Have-2 Interactive and will make a BioShock movie for the streaming platform. Details are currently scarce but expect a film adaptation of the first-person shooter serial BioShock to striking Netflix at some signal.

Taking to Twitter, Netflix appear that it has partnered with both Take-2 Interactive and 2K to develop "a film adaptation of the renowned video game franchise BioShock." Other details surrounding the picture show are thin on the ground. We do know, thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, that equally of this writing no filmmaker or author is involved in the project. All we know is that Vertigo Entertainment and Take-Two will be producing the film for Netflix.

Previously, there were reports of Gore Verbinski being lined upwards to direct/produce a picture adaptation of BioShock, but this fell autonomously due to a variety of reasons including budget issues. Nosotros think if Netflix can become Guillermo Del Toro involved in any style, though, the streaming giant could be onto another gaming hit post-obit the success of The Witcher. Just look at The Shape of Water, those fix designs, the casting…it screams BioShock.

While nosotros look for further news on the BioShock movie on Netflix, nosotros have BioShock 4 to expect forward to, which nosotros now know will non involve series creator Ken Levine. Let'south hope whatever comes of the BioShock film that it will exist one of the few skilful game adaptations. The source textile is certainly there.
